Pros & Cons of H22 Swap
Considering a JDM H22 Type S swap into my 99 Civic couple. What are the ups & downs of this setup. If its not a good idea, am going with plan B, JDM ITR swap.
I would also like to know which motor has better Top End. H22 or B18C5. I know already that the H22 is a torque monster!

h22 type S, my h22eg made 181whp 153tq and my homies itr eg made 175whp 134tq both with just v-afc and i/h/e... It all depends on what u want...and how much money u got...if you just want to drag get the H....if u want to do a little road racing then get the itr...peace

I have the h22a swap in my 94 hatch and I love it. A friend of mine has 96 Civic Coupe With same swap. Handling is not a big issue. Its all in the setup. If you do the Ground Control H22a swap coil overs with kyb agx gas struts HCP or Hasport motor mounts and a rear battery swap you will be handling better than you are right now guarunteed.
if thats still not good enough for you then do GSR front brakes gsr front sway bar and a comptech rear swaybar tiebar combo with trunk and engine bay brace.
you can do all that for around the price of an itr swap AND you needed to do it anyways to get your car turning well.
also youll need to buy new axels you can get them for $70 a piece from napa after you turn in your stock axels the axels do not need to be the same exact because napa wont check. for my car they are 93 integra axels and a accord intermediate i think its the same for yours but not 100%...
Also wether you do a itr or h22a you will be looking at a new radiator... the del sol dual core is plenty HOWEVER if you are not going to run a/c then i would recommend doing a GSR radiator because its much bigger and is also a dual core YOU will have to do some light fabrication...
also scrap the a/c and power steering to save some weight in the front... and again the battery swap is a big deal because you are taking 25 lbs from the front and puting it in the back so the a 50lb differance right there....
furthermore on suspension set up once you have adjustable struts coil overs and the sway bar you have a ton of stuff you can dial in and as long as you do it right i bet you will be able to outhandle any other front wheel drive honda that you run into because
most people just get coilovers

Am planning on doing a GS-R Suspension setup anyways. Also doing a brake conversion to a GSR brake system. Sturt & sway bars are on the way. Am gonna lose the power steering anyways, but still debating if I want the A/C or not. Its pretty hot & sticky here in VA during the summer. Also another Q's is that am planning on going with the JDM H22 Type S swap. What header is good for this motor & I was planning on Port & Polishing the head for more breathing room. Is it nessary to Port & Polish it for not? I want to hit Mid-to High 12's All-Motor on street tires drag radials

dont expect to be carving serious corners with the added weight to the front end. The h22 is alot heaver than any b18 engine. Granted, it is a torque monster, but the b18 has much greater top end power.

No it doesn't. It revs higher in stock form, but that is all.

Tell that to the guy w/ the H22 in an integra that runs in the East Coast Honda challenge and see what he says? You can also ask a buddy of mine stationed here with me in San Diego that has a H22 in his hatch that question, b/c he has no problems!

Its only like a 40 lb. difference!

I doubt that, you may want to do some research!
