Need help in a BIG way!! '90 Accord LX; My oil pressure drops and the light comes on. It seems to be when the engine warms to operating temperature. I have changed the oil pressure sending unit, and even the oil pump. Still having same problem. Discussed with a local Honda tech and he suggested it must be electrical, but I need to chek what the actual pressure is. Hooked up a gauge and got 50-60 psi at startup, then as the engine warmed up, it gradually dropped to around 15 or so. Then I revved up to about 2500 RPM and the pressure climbed to about 45-55. All of a sudden, the pressure started dropping like a rock. In a matter of a couple of minutes, the pressure was well below 20 and dropping.

HHHEEEELLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions as what to try next?

 

I talked with a Honda shop today and the tech said he would suspect worn main bearings. Any techs on the forum that would agree?? Next question, sould I attempt a rebuild or try to find a used motor?
