What to do about airbags?
I got a local guy who will sell me a complete mint black interior for $2-250 but its OBD 1 and my car is OBD 2 and this is my first time digging into a teg so i dont know the differences.
I know the plugs are different but will I be able to cut and solder to change them or are they wired completely different(as in more or less wires)
I have a tan leather interior and I dont want to keep a tan wheel and dash bag so what aremy options aside from removing them?

if it was me i'd get the interior and completely take the airbags out. just get an aftermarket steering wheel and an airbag blockoff plate and you be good to go. actually i think you could still use your airbags that you have in the car right now you'd just need to take off the tan covers on them and swap the black ones on. them everything shoul plug in the same still.
I didnt know the covers came off?
I would love a ITR whell and block off tray but I am broke, jobless and headed back to school so funds are short
And this car is SUPPOSED to be the driver we dont mod
I need help I have already done to much to it.

If this is a street car don't take the airbags off.
You don't want to end up in an accident ad have your car insurance ask you why your airbags didn't go off.
I'm not 100% positive maybe 97%, but I think that cover is part of the airbag.

Airbags saved my dad's life on Father's day last year, or at least got him through with NO injuries whatsoever, when a Chevy Malibu came bounding across the interstate median, spun around, and my dad's Tacoma broad sided the car at 60+ mph. There was NO way whatsoever it could have been avoided.
People who drive on American roads are idiots, and things happen without warning, sometimes with no escape. Don't disable the things meant to save your life.
Same goes for using racing harnesses on the street in a car w/o rollover protection. If the car rolls over you will most likely die or be paralyzed forever.

Yea I would like to keep them and that is why I am asking, This is my first car with bags and its my "driver" not my racer so I dont feel the need to strip anything out of this one.
umm could u use the obd II wheel with the obd I interior... ?or if u could u could mix and match the back cover of the obd II to the obd I wheel if it fits i dotn know all the techincal details... it might not be pretty but if it saves ur life id do it untill i can get that extra cash
