car shudders and engine cuts off at times??

car shudders and engine cuts off at times??
today as I was driving my car was having a hard time moving. as i was driving dwon the road when i stopped my rev meter was going up and down slightly and I had to put my foot down to get the car moving and then I came to a stop and the engine cut out?
has anyone had these problems??

My wife had this problem in her Explorer. If you didn't keep one foot on the brake while giving it gas when you came to a stop, it died. This problem only kept up for a day or so and went away, not sure what the cause was. Just give it a day or so and if the problem persists, have it checked out or keep asking the guys on H-T
