Default Quick timing question

Which way do I turn the Dizzy to advance the timing? Towards the radiator or torwards the firewall?

I have a d series in my Eg.

The reason I want to advance is becasue I run REALLY rich. It was dyno tuned that way becasue in the upper RPM i was losing fuel pressure and running lean.

But its running even richer than it was back then, so I thought I would advance it a degree or two.

turn the distributor counter clockwise to advance (towards the firewall.)

so you're going to just start randomly turning the distributer in unmeasured amounts and expect to produce anything positive? .... on a car that had been on the dyno and is known to lean out up top?
