phantom grip is junk IMO. back when hondaprelude.com was up (and i owned a prelude) there was no LSD for 3rd gen ludes besides the PG. a guy installed it, drove it, didn't feel any LSD effects. he then took the tranny back apart, installed more washers under the load springs in the PG, went for a drive and said it was awesome. two days later he came back and posted that he felt no effects again. i've never heard much good from the PG.
i would recommend an OEM LSD... good up to a little over 200whp. after that i'd say quife (sp?) is going to be your best bet.
theres is the cheap way. weld the spider gears

Heather,
Phantom grip is called that because you won't even know that it is in there. If you aren't willing to spend the money for good parts you are only wasting your money on bad parts. It is pretty much like the other guy said you could use the R LSD which I believe requires use of the R final drive as well. Quaife is best for most daily driven cars because it doesn't require alot of maintenance and it is guaranteed for life
. There are several types of diff's if you don't already know. The R and the Quaife are both "helical", brands such as Cusco and ATS are clutch type. Clutch type LSDs require a routine break down to replace the clutch discs. Clutch types are also recommended for race cars more than daily drivers. There is soo much more.... I recommend Quaife and only Quaife.. regardless of your budget just save the money ($895 shipped) and do it right the first time..
Just my opinion

the phantom grip does not work, its just like welding the axles together so they both spin together. Now think about what happens when you take a turn, your outside wheel wants to spin faster than your inside wheel....

actually obx makes a reproduction of the itr lsd fro about 350 dollars. No one here has tried it yet . http://www.groupbuycenter.com has it. The phantom grip mentioned above does work but has its downfalls. Some 10 second cars have run it. If you use it get the upgrade springs or you will have problems. The stock itr differential will work well over 200 horsepower. I have seen 400 easily and it is stronger than the gsr which i believe has held more than 600. I would say buy a r tranny and save time. I am going to try the obx differential very soon in my gsr tranny as i also have a jdm itr tranny with the 4,78 ratio. I would think you wouldnt need either untill you are making serious power and then it would only help so much.
Actually, someone here has tried the OBX LSD.. there is a post on it on here with pictures..

i'm running a phantom grip and have no real problems with it. on hard launchs both my front tires will spin. coming out of corners i do notice a difference. is it the best? no. if i had the money i would of gone with a quaife lsd. but i didnt have 900$ plus when i got the p.g. they didnt make a lsd for the 91 teg trans. i'm happy with the phantom grip. it was worth the price.
