Default 99 gsr problem

Does anyone have an idea as to why my integra is not idling right. It seems to run ok at open throttle but when i slow down the engine will want to cut out. The rpm will stay at 1,000 for a while before bogging down. Sometimes I will go to start at a greenlight and the car will just bog down and die, after this happens I smell fuel. What could these signs indicate? Mods are as follows: DC sports header, edelbrock throttle body, skunk2 intake manifold, aem intake and filter, and I just got through having a tech install an apexi safc. I was told the air flow converter was going to fix the problem. The tech mentioned that my engine was getting too much air when i go to start due to the mods i made. This sounded like a reasonable judgement call on his part and so I had him install it. The afc did cure a part of the problem I had which was the engine cutting out at all rpm levels, so now it is just down to the idle. Does anyone on this forum have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a new distributor, o2 sensor, or programmable ecu (hondata). The spark plugs were just replaced so I know it has nothing to do with those! Any help would be great

What is wrong with the safc. The only thing the vafc allows you to do over the safc is adjust the activation point of vtec. Any other advise that could be given regarding this topic would be great!

The problem sounds like it could be caused by a sensor. Has anyone ever heard of sensors going bad and causing this type of problem.

I dont know whats up with your car but i can give you my experience. I had a vtec and fuel controller on my 99gsr too a while back. My car would start bogging bad and would want to cut out. I thought it was my Skunk2 mani but it wasnt. As soon as i removed the controller my problem was fixed.

Try removing your controller and see if that works. Good luck.

I have a VAFC and it all works fine. Try slightly adjusting your fuel/air ratio and see if it gets better..... Maybe you accidently changed one of the settings when you got it installed.
