Default Need Advice on a soon to purchase B18C5 Type R

I am getting ready to purchase a JDM B18C5 Type R engine - 210 hp - with tranny and ecu - low miles - 4995.00 Are these engines ready to rock or should I do additional mods to it such as nitrous/turbo..cold air. Aftermarket cams, pulleys, or pistons.... This engine will go into my 00 Civic EX.

Need some feedback here. let it rip

Have you done any research on the engine yet? Or are you just doing this because it's cool?
Type r is a badass engine and I wouldn't boost it unless you have money to build the block. In my opionion, if you want to boost then go with the ls motor and use the left over money to build the block and boost it It would be faster than the type R for almost the same amount of money.

i didnt know type r's were rated 210 hp. why dont you tell us how much power your looking for in the end and what kind of goals you have and then we can work from there.

Well lets see you want to do 160 MPH in your civic for one thing. You never mention anything about suspension unless of course your Civic EX can handle the speed and power of 160 MPH then my apologies. In general its just the consensus of the posters in this thread you are a ricer/idiot that will one day just have Darwin knocking on your car door. Notice all the fast and furious references? I'm sure you loved that movie. Anyway let me break it down for you. F&F is a ricey movie with a ricer loving following. People quoted that movie in this thread because they think YOUR a ricer. Again I bring up the point that the B18C5 is a type R engine and we do have a type R specific forum, how bout you go post in there and see what they have to say, I know for a FACT there much more helpful. As for this thread I see wheres it going (which is nowhere, like your civic) and I'm done with it.
