Are you going to spend the $6-8k to build the engine, correct ECU, fuel and ignition and precautionary requirements to make it reliable?

yes you pretty much lose all reliablility, like when you can't drive your car cause you broke your ringlands

You throw on a charger system on a motor, there are TONS more parts to break, fail, and/or to screw things up.

Want reliability? Keep the honda n/a.

but of course!!, the further away from stock ya go, the closer to failure you come. Of course there are exceptions to that rule. A properly built and tuned engine will certainly outlast a poorly prepaired one, and may even be as reliable as a stocker with a reasonable driver. jmo

peace,

Just remember the fact.

A car that was never designed to be boosted from the factory is never reliable as one that was designed for boost.

its all about fuel mgmt. and its not cheap. if u keep the engine stock, get like hondata, and run ~8 psi it should last awhile. it will never last as long as fully stock, but if taken care of should last long enough for you to want to build it and turn up the boost.

a little old school for ya,

pick 2:

cheap, fast, reliable

a honda on boost will last longer if you baby it, not drive around like a dipshit hitting max boost everywhere you go . Save letting it go for the track, or for the rich guy next to you at a red light with an m3

IMO, invest $200 in Uberdata supplies is totally worth it if you are looking for reliability.

Read and do some more reading when your done with that. find out all about these things

tuning
engine managment systems
fuel setups
injectors
pumps
fmu's (fuel management units) fpr's (fuel pressure regulators)
fuel rails
all the components of a turbo system
how a wastegate works
how a turbo works
how a bov works
how air fuel works
ratios
ideal ratios
timing retard
what a wideband is and how it works
figure out how to read a turbo compressor map and read efficiency so you can determine for yourself what turbo is ideal for your desires
figure out how to run all your lines vacum/oil feed and drain
information about your current motor
what its capable of
what its compression is
what boost its good to
have it compression tested

read fi forums alot and read what kind of problems people are having and what there solutions where

this is not a yes or no question. If you are asking this question you dont know enough to be turboing your car and keep it running reliable. the most unreliable turbo setup is the one where the owner does know what he's doing
