Default How to check which axle needs to be replaced?

okay, so I've got that problem where the car vibrates ONLY during acceleration. After some searching, I've narrowed it down to a possible bad axle (bad inner CV joint). But how would I determine which side (driver/pass) is the one that needs to be replaced?

Do they click when you turn at low speeds? If so have a freind stand outside the car while you turn the car slowly both ways and have them listen to what side is clicking.

More than likely the driver-side inboard joint. Replace the driver-side driveshaft.

Get under the car and check for freeplay in each axle. Do this by slowly spinning the tire, and watch as the inner joint/axle shaft moves with the tire and wheel. If the joint is good, everything should spin together exactly the same. If the joint is bad, the inner joint will probably lag behind before it starts spinning, i.e. you will spin the tire a couple of degrees before the inner joint starts spinning.

I'll give that a try tonight or tomorrow.

no clicking sounds. Just vibrations during hard accelerations, most noticable in 5th gear. Not balance because its ONLY under accerlerations.

The axles (both) were swapped out like 6 months ago (trying to fix something else) with rebuilt crap I guess. I'm gonna order a NEW GCK from Autozone this time. Once I find out which side I need.

I'm on my 3rd set of rebuilts (the brand that AutoZone sells), and mine still vibrate. All 3 sets were installed within a period of 1 week, and all 3 have been crap.

I'm trying to work out a trade with a local shop that has good stuff, trade some OEM Civic suspension parts for a pair of axles.
