take the tailight out and then get a dremel tool and place tailight on a towel and start putting holes in the amber and break it up and then just go to town that is the best way without taking the tailight apart

Check out this website. It's for a prelude but it's the same concept.

hmmm......i thought there was an easier way like to just get a blow torch and melt the plastic......by holding the flame thru the plastic hole (where teh bulb sits)

heyyyyyyyy.........i did it.........i was scared at first but i pulled out the taillights and i threw them in the oven......it worked perfectly fine

the first light, took me about 1 hour to do....just cuz i was nervous and dint' wanna mess up....started with the oven at like 175 degrees then i worked it upto 240

the 2nd light was a breeze....started off at 240 degrees and i had it done it about 20-25 minutes

now im thinking of changing the bulb to a blue one

5-7 minutes at 300 degrees was enough to take my housings apart. Much easier than using a dremmel tool because you don't have to be worried about scratching up the silver paint on the inside of the housing. As long as you get a good silicone seal and make sure you clamp the housing together well as it cures, you'll have no problems.
