DC 4-1 or DC JDM 4-1
When measured with a set of calipers the DC actually has larger diameter primaries and collector.I would guess that it may give a little better top end.I could post the measurements if you like.
Well both headers will be included in our header test we're doing on Dec 15. My guess is that they are similar down low, but the DC will show gains up high. We'll see. Please consider making a donation to the test, especially if the results will benefit you, as we're still a little bit short of the money we need for the dyno. For more info, please refer to my sig.

Though I do have a question about this "test" are you guys planning on taking a break between each run? You plan on cooking your hands trying to get the header off for each test? Test one header a day? There are just TOO many variables here...

Really, too many variables? Tell me, do you have a more effective way to compare 10 different headers and dyno them on the same car and same day? You think you can get more accurate data? I'd like to see you try. No it's not perfect, but it's as close as you can get.

Dave answered the differences once already here and in detail over at that other board everyone likes to diss here and at honda acura.net ( i.e. SHO : I'm working on it guys...we are getting better).

Bottomline: the JDM has a 0.05 in. bigger collector with an antireversion chamber that he recommends porting and the DC has a 0.06 in. bigger primaries OD using the same gauge steel thickness and the DC primaries are 3 in. longer.
It's recommended you port the JDM at the flange ports and at the collector as Dave stated. I believe he tells you how over at the Endyn board (Search). D has a great series of pics of how he ported his JDM 4-1 and then Airborn coated it over at sandmracing.com (thanks D and nice job man).
I 've been told the Jet Hot shiny coatings turn matte grey once they get hot and used. I don't know about Airborn's coating. HPC also is another well known header coater and I believe John's HyTech headers are HPC coated.
The people that come to Honda Tech and stay are pretty experienced and older in general. If you had to manage the SHO board with all the variety of experience that I get as a moderator you would have to have more patience and exercise a lot editing to keep it "organised" and less "ghetto" as the term is derrogatorily used here to describe SHO. So to the harsh critics here: cut us some slack! I'm done editorialising.
Hope that helped. I'd get the DC if you haven;t read into my answer yet and get it coated. The welds are not as nice as the JDM but the layout is better and you don't have to port.
cheers
