Default tranny problem

earlier today i experienced a problem with my car in which my car would not go into any gears untill i was able to force it into 5th and rev the car up high just to get the car to move without stalling out which did a number on my clutch. Now all of a sudden the clutch pedal is very hard and stiff and i can feel bribrations threw it. The car now goes into all the gears with no problems except for the pedal problem. Can somone give me an idea of what im possibly dealing with so i can plan what direction to head in.

You probably had a dragging clutch at first. Maybe you could have pumped the pedal & been all right for a while, but more likely you had air in the lines or a bad master cylinder.

But then you burned up your clutch by starting in 5th. Maybe it'll get a little better with use, but don't hold your breath. You probably need a new clutch now.

yea im already preparing for a new clutch, im just hoping it last for a couple weeks so that i can afford to get a good clutch and flywheel combo together and be done with it.

i doubt this is it... but i had a problem once where i was super low on clutch fluid which caused me to have some wierd problems (hard to put into gear, grinding even with the clutch fully depressed). i doubt thats your problem but its worth a shot.

Tolerating it for several weeks or even a couple months all depends on how bad it's chattering (& your tolerance for discomfort). Don't tear your engine mounts apart... New disk right now might prevent further damage to the flywheel & PP, but if you're gonna replace them anyway...
