Dash lights are all on
2001 Accord V6
No way!!! I just experienced the same exact thing!
I replaced my battery and 3 days later many lights started going on. Then while driving, it seemed that it just slipped out of gear. I press on the gas and the engine just revs. Immediately brought it to a Goodyear station (50 feet away and they did a 'full diagnostic'. They said it could be the alternator. They replaced the alternator, and $500 dollars later it was fine.
2 days later, the lights started coming on again! I've got a 2 year old and don't want to have the car slip out of gear while I'm on the highway! Somebody please help!

Anyone who drives their vehicle and has an easy to work on vehicle such as a Honda should never pay anyone to put on an alternator. You would save a lot of money if you would just take a look at what you've got and play with a few bolts.

Went to the local auto store, bought an alternator and put it in myself.
$130+tax.
Works great! Lights are out!
Thanks all!
BTW, on a '98, you have to remove the fan cowling to create enough space to get the old alternator out and the new one in. It took about 1.5 hours.....and I didn't have any parts left over.
