Can someone trouble shoot what the hell is wrong with my car?
1st post so hello to everyone. Ok, this just happened about 30 mins ago on my way home from the clubs. I was driving at a high rate of speed with a prelude who is a friend of mine....anyways we merge onto the highway and im in 1st gear taking it to redline, i shift into 2nd and right when i shifted into 2nd there was a minor hump in the road. I got a little tiny bit airborn, which made my wheels spin alot more than they should've. Anyways i shift into 3rd near redline and my steering wheel and the whole car is shaking like a ****. I slow down to about 50 mph and its fine......but when i give it a little gas the shaking comes back. Im hoping its just a wheel weight that had fallen off. But maybe it could be something else? I just rebuilt the motor about 10,000 miles ago and never had a problem until now. Here's my current setup, maybe it will help diagnose my problem.
B18C5 block (rods, crank, pistons)
B18C1 head (ITR cams intake and exhaust, mugen headgasket)
JDM ITR header, test pipe, Greddy PE exhaust, AEM CAI, AEM FPR....and other minor things.
TIA

alignment?? maybe...
i doubt that its because you lost a wheel balancer or weight. My car is missing one or two and it does not shake as violent as you describe your shaking.

I just came back from a quick test drive.....and i beleive its something with the axles. When i slow to a red light with even pressure on the brakes i hear a ka-*****-ka-*****-ka-*****-ka-***** noise coming from the wheel area. My pops just put new outer CV boots on both sides about a month ago so maybe he fucked up somewhere.
The shaking comes right when i step on the gas......if i give it gas it shakes right away but when i cruise at the same speed(or any speed) everything is fine. Usually when the wheels are out of balanced it shakes at certain speeds and is fine at other times but my problem is it shakes at any speed im at when i punch the gas.

If your were "airborn" for a while, wouldn't that also mean your LSD might be messed up? I would definitely check your wheel balance first, but throwing out another suggestion.
Its one of your axles. I had the same problem with mine, heavy shaking under acceleration. I bet one or all of your bearings are shot. Axles are really weak on Hondas. The shaking makes your car feel like a POS doesent it? I hated it!
Oh I thought of something funny. When I took my car to the dealer to see what the problem was, the tech after a test drive told me I had too much power for the motor mounts since I added an intake and header! What bullshit! I left and have never gone back after that.

JSpecwest-
So it turned out to the wheel bearings? Hmmmm.........i've replaced those when my odometer turned 75k miles. The tire shop has no idea what it is either....the tires are balanced like a champ. What to do, what to do?
Lift it up and check your suspension. You might be suprised at what you find.

prolly one of the long bolts from the rear tranny bracket mount fell off(thats the original clunk you heard) then when you give gas the whole motor jumps back whereas with no gas it stays even. Do a power brake and see how the motor is rocking, do it in 1st gear then in reverse.

Have you looked underneath the car to see if anything is bent? The axle bearings are just what came to mind. Ive had to replace mine twice on both sides. I have 30k on my car.

I just found out what it is......it was the driver side axle. Seems like i left the old torn CV boot on for too long before i replaced it. Looks like too much dirt and crap got into the joint and wrecked havoc on it. So i gotta get a rebuilt axle! No big deal....im just glad it wasnt the motor. Thanks for all of your help. A round of
for everyone!
