Default My lsvtec setup, help needed

Okay well i've decided to go the lsvtec route. Here is my setup, please make any comments that i might benifit off of. This setup will go into a 4 door but i am thinking about dropping it into an EF or CRX. Here goes...

Block:
B18A Block (stock bore)
PR3 Pistons
GSR Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
Competition Engineering Dowel Pins
New Seals, Gaskets, Bearings, etc
Toda Oil Pump
Toda 1 Layer Headgasket
GSR Crank

Head:
GSR (no milling)
Ferrea Valves, Valve Springs, and Retainers
ARP Headstuds
3 Angle Valvejob
Toda Spec B Camshafts
Toda Timing Belt
Slight P&P
Skunk 2 IM
GSR TB
JDM DC 4-1 Header

Fuel Managment:
Hondata S200 w/P28
AEM Fuel Rail
B&M FPR + Gauge
RC 310 Injectors

Now after all that being said my goal is 200+ whp tuned. I'm not so worried about my fuel management or my head build up but more worried about the foundation, the block. I was wondering if anybody could throw me some help and tell me if i am missing anything or could suggest something better. The motor would be daily driven also.

This is my first lsvtec setup so i'm just double and triple checking things before i really get into things. Thanks in advance.

Joe

Everything looks good to me, with a good tune you should hit 200

Everything looks good but I don't see an LS/Vtec , I see a GSR engine, since you have both crank and rods from one. Anyway with a good tune you might accomplish your goal, as you have some nice tuning flexibility.

the only reason why i decided to go with the gsr crank and rods is to be able to rev up the motor higher so my cams could benifit from it.

i don't really think an ls crank and rods can handle daily abuse to 9k

If youre gonna do all that, just buy a GSR motor and spend the extra $$$ on nice cams a good tune.

nothings "wrong" with it. Its just most people do an ls/vtec to use the LS crank. Youre basically building a GSR motor in an LS block.

THe LS motor has a different rod/stroke ratio to allow more torque down low. thats why people did it. that is why wosmeone said man i wish this b16 behaived like an LS motor.

And gsr owners though, man i wish this b18c1 behaived like that LS integra next to me... under 5000.

You are getting nothing out of that block but trouble building your gsr motor. Man there is so ******* much on this forum about LS vtecs and the like. Try the hybred forum.

well......if you used the ls crank and rods you'd obviously have more displacement resulting in more power. revving to 9K is a waste if an ls/v is going to make more tq and hp, but, at a lower shift point. just because our motors have vtec doesn't mean that we should overrev the motor. lastly, shant on here has a 9500rpm shift point on his ls/v. he had stock rods and pr3's. i believe he had arp rod bolts, but that was it (other than the obviously r/a balancing). don't get it twisted. g/l, either way.

so basically i can rev to 9k daily on ls rods with arp rod bolts and the ls crank safely? because if i can, i would go that route instead of the gsr crank and rods...

a lsvtec is with a ls crank and rods to have the more displacement
you basically building a gsr motor in a ls block plus you wont have the squirters and girdle like a gsr
just use the ls crank you will be much better off

Forget the GSR crank/rods, like everyone and their mom's have said, use the LS crank/rods.

The LS crank/rods is the reason why they build ls/vtecs.
