gas mileage....???
got a quick question for yall...my gas mileage sucks big time now cuz some reason...what in the world could it be? i dont think its my 18s....or could it be? or how bout my throttle body cuz it is sticking? please help...i fill up every 3-4 days now!!! soon ill be biking everywhere...NOT GOOD..thanks later!!
What has changed on your car recently?
If you just put those 18s on I'm pretty sure that could cause what you're experiencing.
I was going to say in winter oxygenated fuel tends to give lower milage, but I dunno if they do that in TX.

If your Throttle Body was sticking, you would know. Your car would never idle low. It would always rev high, so that is not the problem. List everything you have done to the car lately. Also, hos does the car run now? What kind of wheels did you add?
ya the throttle body sticks..it always gets stuck...when i start my car it idles pretty high but after about 2-3 mins its goes down....the only thing i have done is intake right now...and ground control but that doesnt matter..and i have 18" Racing Hart CP-035's...thats all
Okay to clear a few things up. Just because you start your car and you idle high doesnt mean you throttle body is sticking. That is just the pre engine warm up that all cars experience when just started. Like people said if you throttle body was sticking you would experience high idle at all times.
Secondly if you think you gas mileage has gone down for local miles then I would tell you that is due to your bigger rims. It takes more engine power to move them than stock, hence more gas is used. You should be evened out when it comes to highway miles though because you are covering a bigger distance with your enlarged diameter.
Suggestions would be to try some fuel injector cleaner if you havent already, it makes a world of difference...

hmmm...good ideas...ill check them all out...i think i might have a problem with my plugs...the 2 middle ones have oil in them!?!? could that be the reason? i prob just need a new seal on the valve cover? or what?
Is the oil on the electrode end or plug end? Hopefully the oil is just getting past the grommets. Oil in the combustion chamber not good. Better do a compression test dude to make sure oil isn't blowing by your piston rings.
well lets see....i changed my plugs about a month ago and the outer 2 were fine but the middle two...when i pulled the grommet off oil splatter out on to me and some of the engine and yes there was oil on the electrodes...any ideas? please help...and when i get this fix will my gas mileage increase any?? thanks guys
