Whats the difference performance wise about Ceramic and Stainless steel Dc Sport Headers? Are there any better headers to buy?

Ceramic is cheaper first of all. I personally bought the stainless steel to match my SS exhaust. If I could do it again I would probably just get the cermaic to save money. What I don't like with the SS is that it stains if you get oils on it from your hands and such. That is what inevitably happened with my installation and the oil turns blue when the SS bronzes from the heat. Still looks cool though.

I would suggest if you are buying DC headers also that you go with ceramic unless you are building a show car or want to pretty up your engine. Although ceramic might be more suseptable to cracking under the heat but maybe someone else knows for a fact whether that is true or not.

Another thing you may want to consider is the texture inside the headers. I'm sure stainless steel is pretty smooth, but I don't know about ceramic, never used it.

ceramic is better at resisting heat. and ceramic is also better at flowing the exhaust. people paint the inside of their intakes with ceramic paint, to help it flow.

ceramic has a tendancy for the finish to fade. ceramic will also slightly blue if you get oils on it (mine did a little). i went ceramic because of the price. now when it comes to the performance, the difference isn't even really noticable on a dyno. (might not even be tenths of a hp difference)

It really helps the exhaust travel through smoother? I never knew that, but then again I have never seen the inside of ceramic headers. There are probably ups and downs to both, hell I don't see why you couldn't coat the ceramic headers in chrome. I feel as far as durability goes that stainless steel would last longer. Depends on your car too and what kind of exhaust you are putting out.

Everything is theory here, but I think as far as cost effectiveness goes the ceramic headers may be better. Performance wise I would have to agree that it most likely isn't that noticable if at all. But maybe I am wrong.
