I cant get my intake manifold off!
Well im trying to get my stock GSR mani off to install the new STR mani i got. Im having alot of trouble getting the stock one off though.
So far ive gotten everything that i know of off. Coolent lines, vacuum lines, sensors, the 10 mani bolts, and i think the bracket is ok. When i try to pull the mani off it comes off like 2-3mm but wont budge anymore.
I think it might be the bracket. i wasnt able to take the top bolts off but i took the 2 bottom ones off that connect to the frame. its looks like the bracket would just come off with the mani. am i wrong? I absolutely cannot get the top bolts of the bracket off they are REALLY tight.
Any ideas of what im doing wrong?
PS- does anyone else know if my STR mani will bolt up easily? it looks like it has alot less vacuum ports than stock. anyone else with a STR mani could u please post up you experiences installing it.

Not sure what year your's is but on my 91 LS on the button of the manifold there is a hose that connects down to the oil pan. It is part of the PCV system which has the PCV valve running through the manifold. Maybe it is still connected underneath?
Also there should be 2 bolts connecting the manifold to the bracket underneath. It was much easier for me to remove those than the bolts holding the bracket to the block.
Hope something helps.
