Default metal shaving in oil pan

i just took off my oil pan and see some metal shavings in it that looks like glitters. what does that usually means. its a built motor.

i believe copper color was bad...i remember i searched in archieved for this...

Pull off the head and inspect the pistons, and if they look fine then it's the bearings.

i thought you suppose to only see metal shaving after the first oil change on a rebuilt motor not after a couple of years

A magnetic drain plug is a GOOD investment, because it keeps the metal pieces from getting circulated through the engine. Plus it's eaiser to inspect than dropping the pan.

a little bit is normal... it should really almost stop after the first few oil changes, but there will always be a bit... do yourself a favour and get a magnetic drain plug... everytime i drop my oil in my built engine i look at the magnetic drain plug with a magnifying glass

where can i get the magnetic drain plug. the only place i know of is ebay. are the ebay ones good enough?
