HELP!!! IACV question
i want to check if my IACV is good or bad and i checked it by unpluging it while my car is running. Is it suppose to die out when i unplug it? or is it suppose to idle higher or lower? im not sure so can someone help me figure this out.
it'll throw a CEL if you unplug it and it might go into irratic idle (bouncy, maybe a little high). if it isn't working properly, try cleaning it w/ carb cleaner really well, get the screen really clean then re-instal it.
what i really want to know is how do i check if my IACV is good or bad? i need to know a way to check if its working or not. can someone tell me a way to check it. i tried checking it by what i stated above. i searched it but people werent too clear on what i need to do to check it. any info would be good
ugh... i should start charging for this.
heres what honda says to do:
since you dont have a CEL (MIL), w/ the engine running unplug the 2p connector from the IAC. does the engine RPM drop? if so, its another problem (honda says "substitute a known good IAC") if not, check connection at c318, c123, and ecu. c318 is the harness connector on the left shock tower, c123 is the connector that plugs into the IAC. the pin on the ecu that run the IAC is a9 (for an obd1 setup).
if the CEL was on, or if you want to do this anyways: w/ engine running, disconnect the 2p connector from the IAC then measure voltage between the yel/blk wire and body ground. is there voltage? if not repair the open in the yel/blk wire. if so then turn ignition switch off and reconnect the 2p connector. turn ignition back on, connect a jumper between A9 and A23 on the ecu... connect and disconnect a bunch of times, you should hear the IAC clicking... if not, its bad.

i am getting a code 14, and unplugging the iacv connector does nothing.
it also clicks when jumped between a9 and a23.
any opinions?
