High Revvin my D
I think it would depend too much on what motors you were talking about. A SOHC D series from an Si probably wouldn't suffer as much damage than say a DOHC B18B because its a mo betta motor as far as engineering, build quality and materials.

what constitutes high revving. On a b series it is easier to rev them high than on a d-series, kinda like 8200 rom on a d is the equivalent of 9200 on a b, understand?

Just curious, are you basing that analogy on piston speeds resulting from rod/stroke ratio?
I have never actually bothered to look up the r/s of a d series.

Anything below rev cut won't hurt it.
To my understanding, the B7 valvetrain is probably good to 7300 or so and the Z6 to around 8,000. However, I wouldn't rev it that high unless I upgraded my springs and retainers.
The D15B's has a R/S of 1.59
The D16's have a R/S of 1.52
The JDM D15B has a R/S of 1.62
FYI...the B18B's r/s ratio is 1.54 and the B18C's is 1.58. The B16 has the best R/S ratio with a 1.75
The D15's are better for high revving than the D16's, but if you're going to be revving it up to or past 8 grand, you need upgraded valvetrain, rod bolts, ECU, and a camshaft that makes power that high.

well thats good. soo hypothetically speaking of course, if i need the extra revs for a quater mile it would be realitivly safe to shift around 7500-7800 without valve train upgrades?

There are none, I believe you gotta contact like crower or crane and have them custom make you one to your specs.
