Default 98 prelude cat question

Okay my friend has a 98 prelude. We cant get bolts off of the cat to put a greddy catback on because they are rusted..and appear to be melted together. Neways we want to know if those are bolts or studs. Thats it because we figure if they are just bolts we can just cut the nuts off (no pun needed) and it would be easy to get the rest of the bolt out. But if its a stud it will be a bitch. I am talking about the bolts or studs that secure the converter to the cat-back part. Are they bolts or studs

Thanks mang, my friend called me though.. He took it to a shop to cut the bolts off and he says they claim they cant cut them and they will have to weld the cat-back on. I think they are trying to suck money out of him. I told him to avoid the welding if he wants to remove the cat-back and ever go back to stock

acutally, they are studs. Behan u have a 4th gen silly.

When doing my catback i friggin stripped one of those things, they had to re thread it, then used air tools to finish it off. F'in cat studs.

No need to weld, just get a sawzall or similar cutting tool and do it yourself.

oh shucks...yeah this is a 5g prelude.....studs suck...well atleast in the cat situation...was it a pain to back the stud out once you cut the nuts off

# 4 in the diagram. They look like studs, but they are actually bolts. ( silly )
