egr lift sensor
ok. i have posted about this topic before trying to get someone to give me a pic of the egr lift sensor. i decided that it would be best to just take a pic of what i think the egr lift sensor is and have somebody out there identify it. heres the pic dudes. is this the egr lift senor?
thanks
thanks
that is not the lift sensor. that is the egr control solenoid. the actual lift sensor is located in the egr valve.
the lift sensor gives a voltage reference feedback to the ecu to let it know its posistion, therefore allowing the ecu to compensate.

Here, they list it as the valve assembly.

thanks

Thats the Fuel Rail Bypass valve is it not, from a JDM H22? Replaces the Starting Air valve as found on the USDM and AUDM inlet manifolds.
thanks

I believe that if the ECM commands the EGR open during decel and it does not see any motion via the lift sensor since you have disconnected something in the circuit then yes, it will still set a code.
I have heard of folks removing the EGR and plugging off the area with a cover plate and just let the EGR hang, or secure it somewhere. If your OBDII system soes not look for a temp change beyong the EGR to monitor valve opening or if your system does not monitor MAP voltage for a change in vacuum during EGR operation then you should be OK, emissions will be affected but may not affect you.

Is there any explanation threads on IAB, IAC, EGR, Purge etc etc. I would liek to knwo how they are all linked together and which are needed to make the car run and which are needed just for emissions.
Thanks

This man is correct. The EGR solenoid is located on the driver's side shock tower.
Oh and no i dont need the valve anymore. I created a bypass method.

How did you do that out of interest?
Where can I learn more about the differing sensors on engines from different markets/countries? I have a JDM H22A and Im sure Im missing a bunch of sensors. The cars in the workshop now and having the engine put in place and I can just tell its gonna throw a load of codes!
