The link above compares the dohc zc to the b16. it states the average 1/4 mile time of both motors. for the dohc zc, it states that it should run low 15's to to high 14's compared to mid/high 14's for the b16. personally i've never seen an all motor dohc zc pull off a 14 second run. how hard is it to do? all i have right now is an 88 crx si with basic bolt ons. it would be awsome to run a 14 on an all motor zc.

I ran a low 15 with a 94 LS swap. I'm running a low 15 with my d16a6 with i/h/e bored TB, p&p, port matched i/e mani's, cam and chip.
Waaaaaaaaay less then a swap.
I think running a high 14 with a dohc zc is possible, but you can do it cheaper with an A6...and the engines and parts for them are everywhere.

used to pull consistent 15.2's outta a stock dohc zc with just bolt ons. I dont think it would be hard to get it into 14's at all. But like they said above run the a6. SOHC powa
great link i agree, not to sure about the times, but i think the b16a1 would be a better motor
mostly cause i have one and i love vtec

yah i agree the b16a is a better motor, but when when you're strapped for cash and want more power for your ef, the zc at 130 hp is a great value.

I would have to disagree. That 500 you would spend on a stock ZC (which is very hard to get parts for) would buy you some domed a1 pistons, a port and polish, a cam, and a chip (if you got the cam and chip used). That sohc would rip a stock dohc zc.
And the best part is....you can usually get d16a6's from local shops for super cheap! Ive got 3 in my basement at the moment. 2 were free, and the third was $25 all running engines that were replaced with swaps.
