help, is this stud replaceable?
yeah, i just phrased it wrong, is there a way to get that ball joint out cause i have an extra crossmember layin around with them on there and the one on there now is shot (as you can see)
can it even be pressed out the bottom though? there's a rubber cap that i don't think comes off, otherwise i would be taking that cap off and replacing it

yeah, do you know how? or at least replace the arm it's connected to?

I'm not sure what a "Press tool" is, but your Ball Joint Separator is just a tool that allows you to pull the hub off the lower control arm. Just makes it easier than the ghetto way of banging it out. (Which is what the original poster did and probably missed a few hits
Hehe).
When my friend did his, he actually removed the entire arm, set it up under a hydraulic press (he had a real one in his garage) and pressed the piece out. And then he proceeded to press a new one in.

you can get a new ball joint and go to your local shop to get it pressed out and in, thats what i did, i did the exact same thing i think the new ball joint was like 10 bucks or something just a guess but it wasnt to much

how can i take it to a shop with no axle and the hub won't even go back on? i've got an air hammer, but i don't see how you could hammer the top of the ball joint stud without it slipping off

the wheel hub is just the tie rod with it's castle nut and then the ball joint and it's castle nut, then pop/seperate the hub from the ball joint and it's free.. unless you want to completely remove it then you need to seperate it from the calipers and the struts
Taking the piece with the hub and lower ball joint off is a piece of cake. Remove the upper ball joint, tie rod, and lower ball joint. Remove the caliper. This should allow you to pull the whole assembly.
Then you have to remove the snap ring, and press the ball joint out. I hit mine out with a hammer, but you'll end up damaging the new one if you don't have it pressed in.

GOOD LUCK.

damn you guys are good, i wish i could use the info though, as i was looking at the arm i saw that the thin bar that goes through the crossmember (forgot the name) and attaches to the lower arm was completely severed at the connection to the arm... so i gotta replace that anyways and in replacing that i'll have to replace the arm, and that includes the balljoint.... did that make any sense... anyways, i really appreaciate all the info nontheless

guys he's working on a G1 Integra, which appears to have the balljoint and stud in the lower arm itself, NOT in the hub/spindle as G2 and G3 Integras have them.
hehe man..that **** went off on me on a freeway...and i almost died because of that piece of ****...i WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO REPLACE IT WITH OEM one from acura's dealer, dont even try to fix it me...anything damage from suspension related issue should be replace...plus ur **** looks fucked up
