Default Skunk2 Intake manifold doesnt fit.

If you have a 5th gen accord it will not fit. We have to cut the firewall for it to make clearance to fit are h22s. I am gonna be cutting it tommorow and hopefully have it on. Just thought i would share this so you arnt suprised when it doesnt bolt right in.

Doesnt fit??? I got mine in. I had to do a little bit of modification like bang the **** out of a bracket on the firewall so I could plug in the sensor on the throttle body. But everything else fits. Don't get me wrong, its not a simple drop in procedure but, IT DOES FIT! Matix, where are you having trouble at getting it in? BTW I have a 97 Accord LX.

i've heard that the type r intake manifold performs much better than does the skunk2 version....and you don't have to wack the **** out of your firewall to get it to fit....

Type R manifold??? Do you mean the Euro R manifold? And if so, it was not proven to make any more power than the Skunk manifold. Certain setups will perform better with different manifolds.

two guys here, fit in fine??

also, the euro has not been proven, its only been 'stated' one time, by scott.

that dont make it a fact. also if you look, his setup is a low to mid power motor.

i still think/feel that this isnt built for 2100rpm style motors

Really sorry for the misinformation. All you have to do is take off the throttle cable bracket and it fits perfect. I just got mine on and yes it does fit without any cutting of the firewall.

Ok I got the manifold on. Got some problems... #1) The my short ram intake does not fit anymore.(what do i do about that?) #2.) There is a strange farting noise coming out of the throttle body and when the intake is connected it comes out from the filter. It will be totally normal one second and then you hardly touch the throttle at all and the noise comes back. #3.) Took it for a test run, ******* thing is a lot louder than before, and now makes that annoying whistle while accelerating but, it pulled good for a while and then it did like a hesitant pull then not pull then pull hard again. Could this be from the MAP sensor or IACV placement. Thanks!

2point6 built a low rpm torque monster, it runs out of breath where the skunk2 manifold wants to really flow...f he got some wild cams i bet he would see a LOT more gains, but would also lose that amazing bottom end power he has.

and sometimes you got to get creative to make stuff fit, i know 4th gen accords with abs may need to cut their intake to fit right with a skunk2 manifold.

I have a 5th gen. The battery is whats getting in the way, and i mean by a lot. I guess I am just going to have to do is relocate my battery to my trunk. Oh well you gotta give up some stuff to have some stuff sometimes. The sound is kick *** though. Sounds like a B16 now.

yoiu said adding the throttle body adds sound, i never knew that, what kind of sound does it add, or does it make the intake louder?

Adding this new manifold over the stock one made a dramatic vtec growl over stock. I still have the stock throttle body. So back to my questions, anyone got any answers? Also when taking off the throttle cable bracket, do you need to put that back on? Because I just left mine off. Also to make the throttle cable back to correct tension I had to move the bracket on the manifold over to the right on hole so now I only have one hole being used the the other end of the bracket is resting on a part of the manifold. Works out good so far.
