AEM CAI for 2000 Accord Sedan.. vacuum noise
Well I just got my AEM CAI installed today for my 2000 accord sedan and when idling it sounds like a vacuum. It doesn't have a bypass or anything, just the pipe with the K&N filter on the end. Is this a normal noise, the vacuum sound, or do you think something is rubbing or rattling to make the noise? It only happens when idling or during low rpms cruising.. otherwise the throaty sound of the engine during acceleration must overpower it because I cannot hear it during then. Thanks for any feedback.
Can you hear it while in the drivers seat? I would expect to hear some vaccum noise with the hood up and head under the hood or gunning the engine, but while sitting at idle I would not expect to hear much.
Are you sure its sealed/attached well at the throttle body??

I'm pretty sure it's well attached to the throttle body, but I'll adjust and retighten everything tomorrow. What kind of car do you have?
Yeah... the sound is coming from the cone and no where else (not near the throttle body at all). The thing just sucks so much air up that the thing sounds like a vacuum. Oh well. I guess I'll have to live with it or dynamat my car, hehe.
i wish my intake could suck in more air...
