Hi all,

I have searched on this and other sites, but nothing seems to match my particular problem.

Here's the deal:

I cannot remove the front rotors.
'95 LX 1.5 non-VTEC 4-door
Front Rotors are warped, hence the need to remove.
I have searched, some say remove the axle nut, some say not necessary. I don't see any reason to remove the nut, but I have done everything from tapping them with a rubber hammer up to using a large gear puller, and the rotor will not budge!
Can anyone tell me how to get these %!#@ rotors off?!
Could they be warped in such a way as to bind the rotor onto the studs?
I have removed the two screws. I have tried liquid wrench-type fluids. No dice.

does your rotor have two holes in the hat? Those holes should have threads in them going through the hat of the rotor and leading to the hub surface.

I'm not talking about the one with the philips head screw, but the other two.

Get an impact driver and remove the phillips head screws, then get some screws to go into the other holes, thread them through and they should pop right off.
What is should do is force the rotor off the hat when you thread them through the holes. Take the new rotor to home depot and test screws in those to get the right sizing, should be some sort of metric sizing.

i tried using a hammer for about 2 hours with no luck before, i got the screws and had them off in about 30 secs

 

take a hammer and pound the hell outta em... or break the studs off.. They are only like 1 dollar max.

 

An axle/gear puller will take the rotor off, just be careful. I was trying to push the axle out and was using the rotor as the support. I ended up shooting one of the phillips head screws into the wall. Rotor removed (wasn't my goal, but hey, at least I know it works )

breaking the studs is not a good idea...first you'll need to get them replaced and second you still might not be able to get the rotor off, it's stuck to the hub, not the studs

 

If you've got the caliper outta the way + the 2 phillips head screws out then there shouldn't be anything holding it on except rust.

ok, you need to remove axell nut, use an impact....electric works well, then remove caliper/caliper brackett, and or dust sheild, then take a 4 lbs hammer and use a special screw driver, basically when u hit the screw driver it forces the 2 screws on either side of the rotor to move, hit that like 4-5 times till it breaks lose and romve rotor, i belive you can rent a tool like this at autozone or such.

 

i've never heard of removing the axle nut, but use the screw method. When i changed the rotors on my prelude, they were uberstuck, the phillips screws either won't come out or broke with the impact. we drilled them out, then got out the shot-hammer and bet the bitch, popped right off.

 

Unless I read wrong, or you guys missed it - he HAS removed the two screws holding the rotor against the hub which is why he was asking if the rotor could have become soooo warped that it has now 'wedged' itself in between the studs.

I'm still gonna go with BFH.
