mugen strut bar question please
guy is selling his bar out of his civic. will it fit my itr without modification? descriptions say yes, but i'd like first hand experience from techs. thanks!
It will fit. I have the first gen bar, and it bolts to both the stock points and the shock bolts. The second gen only bolts to the stock points. If it fits a civic, it will fit a teg

In theory, many people like the 1st gen bar better, but there is probably not any measurable difference in terms of performance. It is also harder to find since you can only find them used.

I got the 2nd gen on the front and the 1st gen in the rear, I wish I had the 1st gen in the front as well - BTW yes they will fit - mine came of a civic too
I just asked King Motorsports about the bars...
they say: "Mugen stopped producing the 1st. generation front tower bar two years ago. The mounting on the new Mugen tower bar is much improved and provides higher chassis stiffness. It is pictured on our website currently."
So, now I am wondering, does anyone have pics of gen 1 and gen 2 side-by-side?

gen1, in my opinion, is a much nicer peice. it just seems that they couldn't make as much money with this unit as the current one. It is an eight point strut bar. It attaches not only to the stock bolt positions but actually too the strut bolts like a strut bar is suppose to do. If i got my hands on a first generation it would replace my current mugen bar as fast as i can grab my socket wrench
