This car merely has an Apex V-AFC, and an P28 ECU with an extended rev limiter. I wonder how much power it would make on DFI or MOTEC or Hondata?
We bolted on the new SMSP try-Y header, owned by a member on Honda-Tech here, and the power was unleased.
I just put the header on and did a few passes. I did not tune the car whatsoever with the new SMSP header, nor did I try different exhuast lengths. When I bring the car in this week, or a week after, I will fully tune it to that header to see what kinf of HP the motor is capable of.
So the story goes....the car arrived...about 20 witness's were present...the car just filled up at Chevron, 91 Octane. Because the compression is only 12:1. So, with the 91 octane we rolled it up and here is the graphs from the runs.
Here are the graphs.

233 HP at the wheels at 9400 RPM.

that shows the baro pressure, the temp, and the correction factor. It also shows the increase in HP over the other header. Which was a SMSP 1 piece, that made 7-15 HP at the wheels over JDM Type-R.
I want to congradulate and thank David Stadulis for providing me and my shop with a header for my race cars, and also for working with me on my special project cars to make the most horsepower possible.
If anyone would like to know more about these headers please e-mail:
smsproducts@novacoxmail.com
Again, thank you and congradulations David Stadulis. What I mean by congradulations to Dave means that he made a good header. Not that he is lucky to be working with me...that came across wrong...but anyway.. welcome to the Import Builders Family.
Jeff

The SMSP header that was used for the run,
Is it Dave's B20 specific header or his B18 header?
Awesome motor Jeff.

damn thats some good numbers. When I compaired my plot to yours, our whp lines are pretty close all the way up to 7000rpms. From that point I pull above it. With the trq its close to me. I'm around 160-170trq and the lowest point it 150trq which is at redline. Thats a pretty good setup you got going. Now I have to get inside my engine and see what this baby will do!

Thanks to Jeff for posting the results of this engine.
Ukyo,
The header that Jeff used was a liteweight race B20VTEC 4-2-1 with a 2-3/4" collector. The header was built from 18g mild steel and was ceramic coated. The header weighed in at 15 pounds but it doesn't have a standard collector flange on it like my other B20 headers.

ooook, that was a random comment/attack. I was just compairing his numbers to mine. I always do that to better give example's. If anything its a complement to him for getting a street NA engine to match or come close to a FI engine.
Someone needs to get some sleep, because in no way was that an attack or an attempt to ride on his coat tail. I talk to Jeff all the time and we both are always after that killer number or setup. Before you come to such lame a$$ conclusion that I'm trying to rain on Jeff's parade, why don't you check to see if I acutally like Jeff and talk to him.

Erick's Racing's civic 250whp with a tube frame car hits 11 flat to very high 10's.
Its really up to the driver and how the power band and gearing is setup up.
