run 400 grit sand paper over it for about 2-3 min, until everything is pretty smooth. Then go up to 600 or 800 grit sand paper (again, until smooth). Then 1000 grit finish with a 1500 wet sand.

Bust out your dremel w/ the polish wheel and start polishing with an aluminum polish (the kind supplied in the dremel polish kit works great). then you're blinging.

if you want it to shine alot you have to get the surface totally smooth. use a 3 inch sanding wheel with something around 300 to cut down the casting then just go at it with the stages...400,600,800,1500 whatever you choose

Mothers Billet Pollish works awesome, it's like 12 bucks for a little jar, but well worth it.
