Its always good to replace other parts while you are going to do some maintenance work.

I am at 174K miles and am about to install the car's 3rd timing belt. I am still on my original water pump and tensioner pulley, and have not had problems with either one yet, but I do have a new water pump and tensioner pulley ready to install along w/ the new belt.

I did the tensioner. It's not THAT expensive and you have to deal with it all anyway. Better safe than sorry on that stuff... it'd really suck to replace the belt and then have the water pump or tensioner seize up and tear up the belt (and motor).

Well the tensioner does run about $50-$60, and Honda does not list it as an actual maintenance item. I would say at the 2nd timing belt change you might want to do it (180K) but at the first one it's probably not necessary.

Yea, I would change the tensioner... While you're at it...Do a MAJOR tune up as well... (spark plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, motor oil & tranny fluid, valve adjustment...ect... Helps a lot and in my opinion, makes a HUGE difference... Good luck...
