I've decided to swap out my sohc with a dohc but i want vtec should i go with a B16A1 or biuld a
LS/VTEC i know I'll get more power from the lsv but I can shift at 8200 on a stock B16 compared to 6500 on the LSV any input is honored thank you for your opinions.
I also have a D16Z6 for sale full swap for $600
has few mods on motor email me for inquires.
This motor runs mid/low 15's in my 91 hatch

I shift my LSVTEC at 8k RPM.. do a search, there are ways to make the LS bottom reliable at high RPM.. (Polish/Blueprint/Balance Crank, ARP rod studs, Loosen bearing clearances).. Again, Search.
yes you can shift your ls cr/vtec at 8200. wether its safe or not is kinda of a toss up. a built bottom end will ensure longer and reliable life although it will be expensive. mines still internally stock and hasnt had any problems but every engines different. (plus i drive like a grandma) i know people that beat on these set ups on a daily basis and never have probs. then again some do. so its up to you really. and i think the "frankenstein" engine will make more power properly built than the b16 would. correct me if im wrong anyone.
