For those of you that have had your engine on a engine stand.
Sup guys, well i have to swap parts over from my old engine to the new one
and I dont think the tranny bolts are going to be long enough.
Does anybody know the size or the thread pitch for those bolts
so i can grab some longer ones that are the same size. I have some universal
bolts at my dealership but I don't have the tranny bolts out yet.
One other question, can you bolt the engine up to the engine stand on the
front or on the timing belt side. I have to swap clutches over as well.

grab a transmission bolt, then go to the hardware store and get some hardness 8 bolts and just match the threads. Thats what i did to put a 302 on a stand, should work the same
Make sure you get the highest hardness you can find as to not have bolt failure. That would be very bad, and your motor would be in a world of ****.

No you cannot bolt it on the other side.
I usually lift the motor up with my lift and install the clutch while partially in the air. That is also the time when I install the rear main seal.

when you say lift are you talking about with the engine out of the car?
do you use a cherry picker to lift it?
with the rear main seal, do you just take the flywheel off to
gain access to it?

Yea, with it out of the car. I use a cherry picker, correct.
Remove the flywheel and you can access the rear main seal.
