H22 Tranny Problem
I just completed my H22 swap in my 93 Prelude...just one major problem...the mechanic went to take the car out of the garage to go get it inspected yesterday and when he put it in first he heard a popping noise. He now says that he can't get it into ANY gear. I wasn't there when this happened so I didn't hear it nor do I know if the car jumped or even if the clutch was engaged. I have had soooo many problems with this motor that this just adds more hell to my life. Does anyone know what may have happened OTHER THEN the tranny blowing?! Is it worth my extra money to go buy a new tranny or should I have someone take apart this tranny just to make sure it can't be fixed? I don't want to get dicked around here...but I want my car already. I have been told by a few friends that it may be the new clutch or a number of other easily and inexpensively fixable things. Any advice?!
Thanks!

Im in the same boat, a couple of weeks ago I also heard a loud pop, then could not find any gears. so I put my car on a jack and found a hole about the size of a baseball. but then again I was shifting into second
Have him check the shift cable, and besides. The mechanic should fix anything he didnt do right in the install, but then again if he did mess up somewhere he wont let ya know.
to do it yourself.

linkages? you mean cables?
I'd guess shift fork or even the clips for the cables. They would pop if they came out.

Thanks everyone. Yeah the mechanic "should" fix everything but with all that has already gone wrong I think I am going to take it to a shop that only works on Honda's. Make sure it's someone who knows EXACTLY what they are doing so I'm not wasting more money and more time. I'm going over there tonight to check it out myself and see what's up. If it is a cable how easy to fix is that?
