can i chip a p28 sohc NON-vtec (cx) ecu for a gsr in an eg
i know u can chip the vtec ecus and heard it is also ok for the non vtec ones also but i wanted to ask for further confirmation.....and yes i did search and it was hard all i recieved were classified posts....thanks
yes. yes you can. i'm running a p06 (non-vtec dx) on my sohc vtec swap.
and i think you're title is a little misleading. the p28 is for the usdm d16z6, sohc vtec. the cx ecu you're referring to is the p05/p07 (i already forgot)
try http://www.hyperducktuning.com ... great prices and a great ecu. my swap rocks with it

a p06 is a civic dx ecu and can be modified to run vtec and then chipped for a dohc program. same with a p05 however t only runs a 1 wire o2 sensor, adding vtec control to a p05 would make i the equivalent of a p08.
it possible to convert a non vtec ecu to a vtec ecu with some hardware changes and a rechip...but parts are hard to come by so it may be better to look for a P08, P28, P30, P72 or even a P13 ECU.
