Default Problem with reverse.

At first I had a TON of trouble getting the car into reverse...and then I got it in, and from there on, it wasnt a problem getting it INTO reverse. But when I try to get it out of reverse it gets stuck really bad, and i have to put a LOT of strength into it to get it out. It goes into reverse fine, out of reverse is another story. What could be the cause / solution of this?

I have a 94 Civic hatch CX.

any help is appreciated.

you having problems with your clutch?

i know on my friend's gsr, the pressure plate and shift work wouldn't let him shift in/out of a couple of gears. my hunch was correct as we pulled the tranny and pp and disk were shot.

Clutch seems to be fine. Its basically just reverse. 1st gear goes in VERY easy too...i can barely feel it go in, and sometimes when i think its in, its not. And i have to pull it out and push it back in for it to engage. I can't even feel it go into 1st gear. 2nd through 5th are fine though.

if its only doing it in rev. then it's your tranz, or if your lucky it could be you shift linkage, if you ran over anything lately, but if not it's the trans

I had that problem with old my 92 cx, it would get stuck in reverse every now and then and I would have to tap on the break and let off it to get it back into first...never really knew what the problem was.
