Default Vtec solenoid question!!!!!!#$#$%#%#$%#

I was wondering.....If your vtec solenoid was broken would this cause your motor to throw off timeing and make your car run funny? Cause on my car the vtec engine light comes on and ecu code reads 21(vtec solenoid) and my car boggs and stutters.

i mean yea, i been knew that, but is anyone reading the subject.....? Im just woondering if your vtec is messed up WOULD IT throw off your timeing and cause it to bogg and stutter, cause my car is doing that right now, engine code reads 21 for vtec, my vtec i know might be messed up cause theres a dent in it. But i just wanna know does this cause your car to throw off timeing...yes or no? I had this same motor in my CRX and had no problems with it. Took car to local shop they have no clue either, put a couple of plugs i was missing here and there( nothing major) but same ohh problem, engine throws code 21 still, if anyhelp on this or any help in the archive someone has let me know, thanks.

most likely your plug is just messed up. just replace the plug they are very easy to find. and you should be fine for now the only difference will be that vtec wont engage and im not sure but u might run a little rich past vtec but nothin serious.

Well, I found the problem.......Reason why my car was running all fucked up is because of the Vtec solenoid.

When ever i threw a vtec ECU in my car it would run a ll messed up. I didnt know y, i checked my timeing and try advanceing it and trying to makeit right and was still off. Weeks later i borrowed a vtec solenoid from my frens motor and popped that sucker in since i knew mines wasnt working, AND SHAAZAMMM!!!! car runs as smooth as a babies bottom. Timeing is just right and everything.
