Greetings,

I'm a new poster here and I was hoping to find some help with my daughters Del Sol. I recently replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter. The filter is now making strange noises (growling, like there is air in the lines. The engine seems to run fine during idle, and during hard exceleration. I'm stumped. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

did you replaced them with Honda OEM parts or upgraded parts? when does it make the noise? only at start up or all the time?

 

I bought the parts from AutoZone, and the noise is all the time.

Thanks for the FYI. It's almose certainly coming from the filter on the firewall, I can feel the vibrations with my hand in sync with the noise. It's exceptionally loud inside the car, due to the amplification of the noise by the firewall I presume.

were you able to locate the noise? Also just an FYI since you are a trial user you'll only be able to post up only 5 times today, might be wise to just edit your posts.

I've never changed my fuel filter but have only upgraded my fuel pump... mine primes up before the car starts up but thats about it. It doesnt whine or growl. I have a del sol as well. To tell you the truth I've never experienced the problem you are having. It might be worth asking the guys at autozone or if not try another filter... Sorry i dont have a definate answer for u
