It looks weird, but it's a head turner, so maybe.

I thought that was the Lotus Elise...NOT Exige. Never heard of the Exige.

It has the B18C5 if it's the one I'm thinking of. I wouldn't pay $40k for it though...then again I don't have an extra $40k sitting around. LOL!

I guess I was wrong. The Exige is the *race* version. (ie Type R if you will) LOL!

Anyway, NONE of the sites I've visited give ANY credit to Honda/Acura for the 1.8L B18C5 that is in the Elise Sport (and Exige I assume).

As far as I know that car is not street legal. i remember reading a car and driver that did a article about it and its supposed to be a wonderful track car and I would love to have one. I also saw one race on a lapping day at SIR, I talked to the owner and he told me that it was the only production car that can reach over 125mph on the SIR straight. Sounds Sweet to me now only if I had 40,000 sitting around

If I thought that I had a snowball's chance in hell, I would bid on it. I love those cars...

id probably consider bidding if it was about 28k, and it does look pretty sweet!!

so why dont those fool's ever give any credit to the b18c5 that's under the hood?

That car is street legal because they classify it as a kit car.

The Exige is amazing and well worth $40K. I was wondering how they got it streetable as well, but my question was just answered.

They don't come with a b18c5 from the factory. They come with a Rover inline four producing ~150.

There was an article (can't remember what mag(s)) about a company in California that was doing a conversion putting a tuned b18c5 in an Elise chasis.

I would buy one. They weigh like 1400lbs. Think Type Rs are telepathic. Yikes

your probably referring to Sun International(www.sunspeed.com). Personally, I would settle for an Elise. I saw one with nitrous running at a local auto-x. It was fast, almost blindingly fast when he sprayed on the straights.

I checked it out while it was on grid, and it seems alot overpriced for 50k. It's practically stripped. No power anything, no carpet, very thin doors. My kind of car nonetheless. too bad not my kind of price.
