scenerio..

88 crx si w/ a newer motor installed..
Timing Is On..
Good idle when 1st started for 15-20 min...
Then Idle gets rough for 5-10 min...
Then Car Shuts Off..
I checked all the vacuum lines w/ ether! no probs there!
NO OVERHEATING BUT FANS DON"T KICK ON!

WHAT IS WRONG??

 

Does it run okay at high speed?

Check your idle screw.. make sure the IACV is hooked up.

 

never been ran yet! i don't want to break down!

Ok what about if you hold the gas pedal, will it shut off?

IF YOU GIVE IT GAS... IT DIES!

 

Is it possible that your cat may be clogged up?

reason is that if your exhaust gases cannot escape efficiently, then backpressure builds up and dies out the engine..

But now, since this is a new install, maybe you installed something incorrectly also and that will be hard to diagnos from here.

try fuel pressure, sounds like your getting too much fuel
