NOTE:

THE BELOW TESTS WERE DONE ON A MUSTANG DYNO MODEL MD-500

NOT, I REPEAT, NOT ON A DYNO JET (WHICH YIELDS HIGHER NUMBERS THAN A MUSTANG DYNO)

Deltas are key, not peak number!

from those gains, and from your model year....i'd expect about 224 to the wheels using a dyno jet

Very nice. Look at those gains in the midrange! Pretty awesome for n/a. I wonder if having an aftermarket intake would yield better results? Do you have a CEL with the test pipe even though you're running the EMS?

the EMS does not have "CEL" issues, so no to answer your question

I see. Thanks for the speedy reply! Its definitely reassuring that you can replicate what vapor has been telling us all along, that there is power to be unleashed from bolt ons with the EMS. Maybe this will shed some light on everyone who thinks the S2000 is maxed out from the factory.

Nice gains. So a little over 4hp gain by using the AEM EMS. I've been thinking of switching to the AEM EMS on my NSX with similar bolt-on mods. Do you know if these gains are typical with stand-alone's?

Actually, gains of the F20C via a standalone are normally greater.

This car is a daily driver so a conservative tune was made.

Honestly - if one were to attempt to tune a conservative setup using a VAFCII, what kind of decrease would be see in power? Seeing as you can only tune fuel on the VAFCII (and VTEC obv)....did you tune timing and things like that as well to hit those numbers?

Yes. The midrange gains are very usable.

What impresses me most is just how flat that torque curve is, accentuated by your bolt-ons and tuning. Anyone who says that the F20C has crap torque is talking bollocks. 80% availible from 1000rpm (approx 11% of engine rev capability) and it stays roughly the same all the way to, as the plot indicates, 8650rpm. Show me the other reciprocating NA engine that can match that.

WOW just header exhaust gained 16whp Holyshit !!

I am pretty sure if you get an intake, you will gain lot more power.

I hope to have my write up done soon after testing the CTAE carbon intake manifold on the 3 stages of dyno tuning done on my car. Can't wait!
