well im kinda curious about the difference between obd2a and obd2b. i would actually be putting the obd2b motor in an obd2a hx and use an obd1 ls ecu so i can chip it. how many conversion harnesses do i need? just obd2b->obd1? also, am i going to wind up extending a lot of wires for sensors if i retain my stock hx harness? just trying to get a general idea, because i would like to get the newest motor with the least miles as possible.
I know its one hell of a lot easier to diagnose problems with an OBD2B car.....as fo rthe spcifics of how diffrent they are I couldn't really tell you. Personally I think that OBD2 jsut has a bad rep...god knows I've wished many a time I had left my car as an OBD2 instead of swithcign to OBD1....of course I do have acess to a ton of factory diagnosis tools...eh either way.

Use the wiring harness from the OBD2b motor then get a OBD2b>OBD1 conversion harness and that will solve your problems.

is there any way for the car to run on the obd2b ecu with the obd2 engine in the obd2a chassis? cause starting in september new york state is gonna plug into the ecu and check for tinkering to pass inspection(not like i can get the car to pass now anyway). would i just have to work out the code 91 fuel sensor thingy issue and re-pin the harness to overlook the immobilizer?
