Default installed 99-00 Si front and rear sways on my EK...

i finally got around to installing front and rear sways, both from the 99-00 si on my 96 hatch. i installed the rear bar first, a 13 mm bar, a direct bolt on. to install the front i had to change the lcas, forks, and take off the cat and drop the shift linkage, but everything bolted on w/ no problems. i didn't get to really test the car yet, as it was raining this weekend, but i hope that the bars will be worthwhile. any opinions out there about this? btw, i was considering an ITR bar w/ beaks kit once i get used to this setup.

I put the rear si bar on my ex coupe and I noticed a slight difference in handling characteristics.
Im pleased w/ it since I only paid $50

You will probably get more understeer with the SI setup... You would have probably been better off keeping your stock 22mm front bar... Bigger isn't necessarily better. However the 13mm rear is a nice addition for a street car. I'm very happy with my $50 rear 13mm si sway. Picked it up at a salvage yard... Also running energy suspensions sway bar bushings front/rear.

The Si swaybar dosen't really do much, it's pencil thin, I had one on my EK, I would suggust something bigger if you really want to notice a difference.

ok, remember, before i added the si bars i had NO sway bars, front or rear on my dx hatch.

i got to play on some back roads a little yesterday, and i was very impressed with my car after the addition of the si bars. steering effort is slightly reduced and more controlled during hard cornering. body roll is greatly reduced. the car just feels a lot more in control than before..i used to have a crx that rotated really well..the hatch isn't quite there yet, although compared to my old del sol vtec the handling is actually on par if not a bit better.

Soon enough you'll be wanting something like the ITR rear sway.
And when that time comes... maybe think about adding some SRR rear lower control arms - They weigh less than stock and look nice too.

what springs and struts are u running? on my hatch i'm running gc's and tokico illumina's, my car feels a lil loose so i was thinking that the ex front and si rear would be a great addition. also couldn't i just stiffen up the rear a bit more than the front to help the car rotate a bit more easily?

i'm running kyb agx w/ ground control coilover. i put the rear bar on a few days before i put the front bar on, to see if just the rear bar (13mm si bar) made a difference. it didn't. but after installing the front bar and lcas it made a big difference.

i just threw the neuspeed rear sway on my 97 coupe and instantly felt a huge difference...the back end of the car is so tight now i couldn't believe it. I'm loving the new feel...can't wait to see how it performs on an autocross course.

sounds like we have very similar setups. i was wondering about just running the rear as well u answered my question about that though. before you installed the swaybars did your car feel loose at all? looks like i'll be searching the salvage yards for some swaybars.

actually it did. i drive a back road to work every day, there are some areas of uneven pavement, and sometimes i could feel the front wheels seemed like they were trying to go 2 different directions..although it felt capable of turning fast, it definately wasn't confidence inspiring. i was very impressed by the improvement the sways made.

i bought my mine front larry jr. at import auto salvage. i paid about $200 shipped for the front setup, complete w/ everything down to the last bolt (LCAs, forks, bar, endlinks, bolts, etc) and i paid about $75 shipped for the complete rear bar (bar, endlinks, brackets) i was missing the four subframe mounting bolts and had to source my own. he might have more sets..call them up.
