shifter not moving
in my 96 EXR coupe......from neutral when i try to put it into a gear...the stick does not go, like there is a lock on that gear or something, then if i play around with it (like try going into other gears) and go back to teh gear that i intially wanted, then it works.....i dont get it.......clutch fluid is full and i spray WD-40 into the region of the engine bay where the gears are....
i know i have some type of short shifter adapter on the car, its purple, people said its a B&G
any help, greatly appreciated

I have the same problem sometimes when initially trying to put it in 1st or R from a stop, but this is usually only after the car has been sitting there for a while. I also have a short shift adapter but this problem existed before it was installed. I figure, don't worry about it till it just flat won't go into gear no matter what you do.
Ive had simaler problems with my 95 accord. Half the time it doesnt seem it wants to go in reverse. So in order to fix that problem I have to put it in 1st and then in reverse. Each car has its own personality.......

Though (now reading this thread) every car has it's own personality, this seems to be common in this generation of Accords
