Its like the car just seems to get alot of sway on the freeways. But it could also be due to a torn LCA bushing. Is this pic not showing up...its showing on my computer... Does webshots not let me link of their site??? Could someone please host a pic for me?
You're not being specific enough. "Sway" is not an adequate descriptor of your problem. You said your steering wheel floats...does that mean you have to hold it tightly to keep it from moving or you have to move it a lot to make the wheels move or what? By sway do you mean your car moves around on the street without steering input or that it rocks back and forth like all the suspension is way too soft?
Tell us what it looks like, what it feels like, what it sounds like and what it tastes like. We don't want to know what you think: if your thoughts were correct you wouldn't be asking now would you
? Just describe the **** out of it and let us work together.
EDIT: and that looks like the rack might be coming apart at that joint which would be a good thing to know. If the rack is becoming loose, that would explain the problem.

Sorry, yes it seems as though I have a very loose steering rack. Very little imperfections in the street and I feel a major change sometimes in my steering. Cracks in the freeway really hit me sometimes. Like I have to hold on with both hands on the steering wheel to make sure it doesnt go out of control.

My integra is like that. You just need new steering racks boots. That alone will not cause slop in the steering. A bad ball joint or bushings can, as well as a steering rack that needs adjustment. You can tighten up the steeering rack and just change out the boots. If the boots are not changed, the rack can eventually need replacing.
1) Take off front wheel
2) break loose the lock but on the end of the tie rod (count the number of threads showing to replace the tie rod in the same spot)
3) take out the cotter pin from the tie rod ball joint and then take the nut off and knock the tie rod out.

4)take the tie rod off
5) cut the band on the boot and take the old boot off
6)pack with new grease and install the new boot
Adjusting the steering rack:
1) brake loose the lock nut and tighten the rack guide screw to 36 ft-lbs

You'll need a few zip ties, in case you need to cut off the old stock boot clip. And new cotter pins for the ball joints on the tie rod.
Yup the boots torn. That should not be the cause for funky steering if the ball joint inside is still good.

you've done 3 swaps? damn. And yeah, that looks bad, you're gonna have to tear it up and replace the bolts, seals, re lubricate and ****.
Motor will be out tonite and Ill go ahead and remove the steering rack along with more pics....
I had my steering boots replaced just over a week ago. They are just a paint to put the new ones on. Should be a lot easier without the motor in there!
So I ordered new boots and tie rod ends along with that plastic bushing piece that goes on the rack itself. We'll see where it gets me. Just that now the motors out Im gonna go ahead and paint the engine bay viper red since my car will be going into the body shop with in the next two months to be repainted that color.
