Missfiring or injection problem on my R no CEL on(searched)
Hey guys, i have left my car with nothing except a coton cover over the block while i was getting the jdm conversion painted and it rained so some water fell on the motor directly. so after i put all my parts are back on i start the car everythings fine, i get it home, then i stop it after some 8 minute ride just enough to warm the car up and the car didnt want to start anymore. So i cranked it with and without gas and it eventually turned back on and was very boggly and missfiring, i was doing back fires while trying to get it to start from unburnt gas. So once it started, as soon as i let go of the trottle it died off. Left the car sitting for a night, the next day i try starting it and it starts right after 3 cranks again, i'm thinking everything is back to normal i take a quarter mile ride and back to my place and it runs like a champ, turn it off, go do some stuff, come back... the car would do the same thing and run like crap again. once it warmed up it would barely start anymore.. got it to start the same way, missfiring again. i dunno if humidity got to it or something while the hood was off or what, now my first reflex would be to change the spark plug wires and cap rotor. my injectors have 10k miles on them and my gas filter is old so i was wondering if that isin't helping... i have new NGK iridiums on there that ran great for 3 weeks and now they are black at the ends i don't know if that's suppose to happen so quick. I tried putting back my 3 year old bosch plugs with no luck either my car is fairly stock i even put the stock air filter back on to help it out a bit with the air fuel ratio... Now i have no Check engine light come from this. i was wondering if this ''works fine/works like crap once warm'' thing rings a bell to any of you. any input on your knowledge or past experience would be greatly appreciated guys!
