question is in the title. i seem to remember reading that advancing cam gears too much with toda b's will eat valves. any truth to this?
Advance it too much and valves will touch the pistons= goodbye valves
It's always a good idea, especially with aftermarket cams with more lift, to check piston to valve clearance and how much the cams can safely be advanced/retarded without getting into trouble.

Exactly.
How did you decide on the 3° setting? Without a dyno, you have no way of determining what effect the adjustments are having.

i did dyno it. the guy put my cam gears at +4 in, -4 ex. don't really trust the guy who did the adjustments, thats why i'm asking this question. +4 is around 8degrees advanced, im afraid of valve to piston contact with this setting
