Default water spots on engine block??

So I got my swap done woohoo BUT!!!!.....

the engine block and tranny look really really nasty, there's all these water spots all over it. How do I get rid of em? I already cleaned my engine bay, and i sprayed simple green all over it, but to no avail. Maybe I didn't let it sit for long enough? Any ideas? the block just looks horrible, so much white crud all over it.

But the good news is that the motor runs strong
